Ways of Seeing: Building the RIC Collection
January 20 – February 28, 2016
Student Gallery, Ryerson Image Centre
Working with the photographs collection at the Ryerson Image Centre, second-year students from Ryerson University’s Film and Photography Preservation and Collections Management program have created an exhibition and accompanying publication under the guidance of curators Sophie Hackett (Art Gallery of Ontario) and Gaëlle Morel (RIC). The RIC’s collection, begun in 1969 and growing ever since, provides an overview of the history of photography and includes original works by a variety of practitioners from the mid-nineteenth century to the present.
